About Us

Made for Mila began in mid-2019 – I had just gone back to work after my third baby.  I woke up one day with this drive to learn how to sew!  All coming from someone who didn't even know how to thread a sewing machine.

I purchased my sewing machine, and I admit it stayed in its box for a few weeks before I was brave enough to attempt using it.

 

The very first thing I even made was a vintage knotted bow.

 

 

Everything at Made for Mila is 100% handmade in New Zealand be me in my home in Auckland.

Our clothing is ethically produced from Organic Cotton and Linen.  I chose to work with sustainable fabrics in my bid to be more eco-friendly.

What makes my business special is the fact it is made from start to finish right here in New Zealand.  I make limited edition pieces which aren’t manufactured in overseas sweatshops.  I am not a big business.  I do all the hard work myself.

Made for Mila is currently solely run by me, Nicole, I design, select the fabric, sew and package all your orders and is the one you correspond with on Instagram and Facebook!  A bit about me…  I am a mum to three kiddies (5yrs, 6yrs and 9yrs).  I got married in January 2023.  I also work at a full time job alongside running this small business.

It can be challenging at times but is so rewarding, and some of the highlights has been getting to know you all!
